How Austin Has Influenced Service Direct

Austin, Texas is home to more than 2 million residents according to Austin Chamber as of 2015. The culture is one made up of around 78 festivals annually, booming nightlife, hundreds of restaurants, and startup company after startup company. As a leader in advertising and marketing, Austin hosts the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival. It is an educational, musical, film, and interactive festival for networking and celebrating Austin's entrepreneurial spirit. Each of these characteristics combine to make Austin a unique home to many up and coming professionals and companies, like Service Direct.

Each of the numerous festivals that Austin hosts like ACL, ATX Startup Crawl, Urban Music Festival, and many more that you can see here all provide opportunities to network, whether professionally or personally. After participating in both SXSW Interactive and the ATX Startup Crawl last year, Service Direct experienced firsthand how these festivals encompass Austin’s friendly, community-oriented vibe. To that extent, these characteristics affect the city from the languid driving to the cozy locally owned cafés, restaurants, shops, and other businesses. These festivals provide an opportunity to connect with other businesses, not only in Austin, but nationwide and sometimes worldwide. In many ways, that interconnectedness can be found at the Service Direct office: getting to know the clients on a more personal basis, putting the clients first in the partnership that we create together, and welcoming businesses nationwide to become a part of the Service Direct family.

While Austin used to be known as the city with tea houses in the hills, housing hippies and other people who appreciated the beauty that the Hill Country has to offer, the city has grown astronomically since the 1970s. It still retains its peaceful, nature-loving character in Zilker Park and more specifically, Barton Springs Pool which attracts hundreds of people on the hottest days of summer. The Greenbelt’s hiking trails also provide a getaway from the hustle and bustle from the inner city life. Although the trails provide relief from the populated activities the city has to offer and even from professional settings, it is unlikely to go hiking without encountering another person on the trail. Despite being removed from Austin’s epicenter, people in the hills still find time to commune.

Just south of downtown, Service Direct is nestled in Austin’s Sunset Valley with a friendly environment. As a locally owned and operated ad agency, Service Direct drives home the meaning of working together, combining both the Austin friendly service, the fun and exciting elements of living and working in Austin, and also the wholesomeness of working together as a family. Austin’s abundance in activities allows ad agencies like Service Direct to bring the work family together outside of the office, which further adds to the supportive nature of Service Direct. It is not only an ad agency, but one that cares about its clients’ successes and strives to create meaningful, lasting business partnerships with the clients.

Where does Service Direct fit into the Austin business culture? As a leader in the advertising and marketing world, Austin fosters over 75 various advertising and marketing companies, only 3 Austin based lead generation companies were listed on Inc. 5000 this year, and two were listed more than once as an Inc. 5000 company, one of those being Service Direct. From one Austin homegrown company to another, Austin is the place to start a customer-oriented company with its favorably polite population, artistic festivals, social awareness, and influential art within the city. As far as Austin companies go, you can rest assured that Service Direct comes from the heart of Texas, Austin’s culture embedded in the heart of this welcoming, friendly, and familial company.
